In this one-week course, you will experience Cape Town through the lens of a camera. Photography is a universal skill that in today’s world is practised and shared multiple times a day. Knowing how to take good quality photographs enhances the story or message one wants to tell, it improves personal memories, and is a great excuse to pursue fun-filled adventures.
Photography is the perfect blend of science and art. Through a hands-on approach of taking photographs and receiving regular critique, you will learn your way around the camera. You will also better understand how your camera settings influence an image and find a style that suits your eye. Photography is fun, and its roots are set in exploring and experimenting, so the course will encourage you to experience Cape Town in a way you haven’t done before. You will leave this course with a portfolio of diverse imagery to take home and share.

"For me the visit to the township was definitely the best experience on this course. Not only because the people were extremely kind but also because it was eye opening. It was life changing to get it on the camera."

"Personally, the best experience I had on this course was the township tour. Seeing how people lived and being able to capture that on your camera was amazing. The schedule was very flexible which made it easy to go and explore places we haven’t seen before in Cape Town!"
Sophie from Switzerland ()
"This course was very rewarding. We received lots of advice about taking photos and also about framing, lighting and colours. The atmosphere was really friendly and everyone was always in a good mood. Thank you for this!"

"Short but intense! I had the opportunity to discover a lot of places in Cape Town, touristic and not, with another eye. Damien did a great job to bring out the best artistic side of each of us. He was always positive and found something good to say about our pictures, even though we might not have thought it was worth it. He made me more confident and gave me great advice about how to make a picture instead of take a picture. He also taught me to shoot with full manual settings, which I now use all the time! Thank you!"
